Some of my favourite drummers

Airto Moreira. A Brazilian drummer/percussionist best know for his work with Return To Forever, Weather Report and with his wife Flora Purim. Also made albums as a leader.
Alphonse Mouzon. Worked with Weather Report but probably better known for his work with Larry Coryell/Eleventh House.
Billy Cobham. Influential jazz rock fusion drummer who has worked with Miles Davis, the Mahavishnu Orchestra and as a session musician. Has also made albums as a leader.
Chester Thompson. Best known for his work with Frank Zappa, Weather Report and Genesis.
Elvin Jones. Jazz drummer best known for his work with John Coltrane and has also made albums as a leader.
Jack De Johnette. Best known for his work with the Charles Lloyd Quartet, Miles Davis, Gateway, Keith Jarrett and recordings as a leader.
Jeff Porcaro. Drummer for Toto and in demand as a studio musician, making him one of the most recorded drummers in history, despite dying relatively young at the age of 38.
John Bonham. Drummer with Led Zeppelin.
John Marshall. A founding member English jazz rock band Nucleus. Those he has also worked with include Michael Gibbs, Keith Tippett, Centipede, Soft Machine, Elton Dean, John Surman, Arild Andersen, and Eberhard Weber's Colours.
Jon Christensen. A Norwegian jazz drummer who has recorded extensively on the ECM label with Terje Rypdal, Keith Jarrett, Enrico Rava, Eberhard Weber and others.
Joseph "Zigaboo" Modeliste. Best known for his work with The Meters.
Keith Le Blanc. One of the original Sugarhill crew, Keith worked with Tackhead and Adrian Sherwood (Onu Sound) in the United Kingdom. Also worked with Little Axe.
Lenny White. Best known for his work with Return to Forever. He has also recorded extensively as a sideman and as a leader.
Leon "Ndugu" Chancler. Worked with Weather Report, Santana and Flora Purim among others.
Luke Flowers. Drummer with the Cinematic Orchestra.
Manu Katche. Best known for his work with Peter Gabriel, he has also worked with Jan Garbarek, as a session musician and made recordings as a leader.
Marilyn Mazur. Drummer and percussionist who has worked with Miles Davis and Jan Gabarek, as well as a leader.
Michael Shrieve. Best known for his work with Santana.
Mike Clark. Best known for his work with Herbie Hancock. Has also recorded as a leader.
Narada Michael Walden. Best known for his work with the Mahavishnu Orchestra. Also worked as a session musician, composer and producer.
Peter Erskine. Worked with Weather Report and Bass Desires. Has recorded extensively as a sideman and leader.
Phil Collins. Drummer with Genesis and Brand X. A solo career has made him much more well known.
Richard Bailey. Guyanese born drummer with Incognito.
Simon Phillips. Most well known as a session drummer in London.
Sly Dunbar. Jamaican drummer who has worked with Peter Tosh, Grace Jones, Black Uhuru and Material. One half of the duo Sly and Robbie with bass player Robbie Shakespeare.
Steve Gadd. Most well known as a session drummer.
Steve Smith. Drummer with Jean-Luc Ponty and Journey. Worked as a sideman and leader
